I am part of all that I have met,

All experience is an arch wherethro'

Gleams that untravell'd world whose margin fades

For ever and forever when I move.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson "Ulysses"

Migration has become such a politically charged issue that it is difficult to have a sensible conversation about it. Although it's a global issue, noise about 'small boats' crossing the English Channel drowns out the broader narrative in the press. This course will look at the bigger picture: Historic and geographic patterns of migration The impact on their destination countries Motivation of migrants to relocate;. The migrant experience in their country of arrival. Different legislative frameworks adopted to manage the flows of people across the world. We'll look at the US, Europe, the UK and Australia
